FAQs

What is Magnesium Spray?

How Do I Use It?

Apply 2-3 sprays on the soles of your feet, abdomen, thighs, or underarms.

Start by applying once a day before bed and once you become accustomed to the effects you can increase to 2x a day

Never spray on fresh shaved skin.

How will it make me feel?

Most people notice a subtle wave of calmness & relaxation throughout the body. It will also alleviate restlessness in the legs, arms, and body and will help calm any racing thoughts. When first starting use before bed as it may make you sleepy.

Is this better than taking magnesium pills?

The transdermal absorption of Magnesium Spray in comparison to oral ingestion (pills) is more effective due to better absorption (90% vs 30%) and fewer side effects as it bypasses the gastrointestinal tract.

Does it have any side effects?

Using too much topical magnesium, can lead to several side effects. The most common one is skin irritation, which can manifest as itching, burning, or redness where the magnesium is applied. This is often due to the high concentration of magnesium chloride in these products, which can be irritating, especially on sensitive skin.

Other potential side effects might include:

  • Dry skin, as the salt component of the magnesium preparation can draw moisture out of the skin.
  • In some rare cases, excessive use of topical magnesium could lead to an upset stomach or diarrhea, as some of the magnesium may be absorbed systemically through the skin.

It's important to start with a small amount to see how your skin reacts.

If you experience any adverse effects, it might be wise to reduce the usage or consult with a healthcare provider.

Is it safe for children & pregnant women to use?

Magnesium is generally considered safe for both pregnant women and children when taken in appropriate amounts. Here's a breakdown for each group:

Pregnant Women

Magnesium is important during pregnancy and is commonly included in prenatal vitamins. It helps with the development of the fetus and can reduce the risk of certain complications such as preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction. However, pregnant women should avoid taking excessive amounts of magnesium supplements unless prescribed by a healthcare provider, as too much can lead to adverse effects like stomach upset or more serious health issues.

Children

For children, magnesium is essential for bone growth and development, as well as for proper function of nerves and muscles. Magnesium supplements should generally be given to children only when there is a dietary deficiency or as directed by a healthcare provider. Most children can get adequate magnesium through a balanced diet.

In both cases, it's important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen to ensure it's appropriate for the individual's health needs and circumstances.

Does it sting or itch?

Tingliness/itchiness may occur if you are magnesium deficient. Start with a few spritz on your feet daily. Never spray on fresh shaved skin.

Dilute with castor oil or aloe vera for reduced sting & itchiness

I already take magnesium. Can I take this too?

It is generally considered safe to use magnesium spray even if you already supplement with other magnesium supplements. However, please consult your physician before use.
